Using Demo Mode
Available on ViewMail, ViewMail for Microsoft Messaging, ViewCall Plus, and ViewFax, the demo profile can be used to demonstrate the product to customers. You will be asked whether to start the application in the "demo" mode or "standard" mode. The "standard" mode is the existing profile regularly used for normal business communications (i.e. checking e-mail on a Repartee server, sending voice mail messages, receiving faxes, etc.). The "demo" mode is a new mode of operation that will be used solely to demonstrate the capabilities of the Visual Messaging applications. If the "demo" profile is used, you will not be connected to an actual voice mail system. When you customer has purchased a live voice mail system, they only have to switch to "standard" mode to use the full application. No additional installation is required.
The ViewMail and ViewMail for Microsoft Messaging demos contain pre-existing messages and a fictitious database. The ViewFax demo allows you to view the pre-existing fax messages in the ViewMail and ViewMail for Microsoft Messaging demos, as well as simulate a print-to-fax scenario. The ViewCall Plus demo provides incoming call simulation capability.
Announcing Updated v3.4 Visual Messaging Solutions
Active Voice has released updates to its entire Visual Messaging suite of applications. The updated modules contain new help files and a standardized look and feel for all of the applications. Additionally, we've made improvements to the installation process (Universal Installer) and created a new installation guide.
Key Updates:
- Fax Confirmation Receipts: Subscribers will receive e-mail notifications confirming successful fax transmissions to external numbers (Note: This feature is available on Repartee® for Windows® v2.3 and higher).
- ViewMail for Lotus Notes (VML): When subscribers log into VML, they will now see a "ViewMail for Lotus Notes Synchronization" window that contains a progress bar. This notifies users that VML is working when the Lotus Notes client is launched. VML now allows message sorting by type (e.g. e-mail messages, voice messages, and fax messages).
- ViewMail for GroupWise (VMG): GroupWise 7.0 is now supported.
