Training > Certification

Passing a certification exam is mandatory for an individual to receive certification. A score of 85% or better is a passing grade.

Once an employee of an Authorized Reseller in good credit standing or an end site representative with a valid ActiveCare® agreement has achieved certification on a specific Active Voice product, he or she may then contact Active Voice Technical Support for most issues regarding in-warranty equipment without added cost.

Achieving Certification

Certification can be achieved in one of two ways:

Instructor-led courses. At the end of an instructor-led course, participants will be permitted to take a certification exam. Participants will be allowed approximately five hours to complete the exam and return it to the instructor for later grading. Grading and a notice of certification generally take one to two weeks after the course is completed.

Full certification test or challenge exam. A full certification test or challenge exam can be taken when an individual believes he or she already has acquired the knowledge through self-study or on-the-job experience. After ordering a certification or challenge exam, it is faxed to the individual. It must be returned to Active Voice within five business days. Grading and a notice of certification generally take one to two weeks if no instructor-led courses are scheduled during the same time.

Note: No extensions will be granted. Once the exam is faxed, the individual must complete and return it within the time noted on the exam or it will not be graded.

All certification exams are open book, open note, and/or open demo machine. Individuals MUST, however, complete the exam themselves and no outside sources must be used. If there are any questions regarding a test question, individuals may contact the course instructor or contact training@activevoice.com to get clarification.

Please note Active Voice reserves the right to suspend or revoke any individual's certification(s) at any time without warning for any reason(s) Active Voice deems necessary, including, but not limited to, the following reasons:

  1. Misrepresentation of certification status.
  2. Allowing fraudulent use of certification information by another individual.
  3. Obtaining, or attempting to obtain and/or assist certification or re-certification by fraud or deception.
  4. Mishandling of Active Voice testing materials, including, but not limited to, reproduction of exam questions.
  5. Violation of examination rules, including, but not limited to, cheating on the exam.
  6. Major product changes requiring re-certification.
  7. Individual's knowledge level is insufficient to provide adequate support, as determined by Active Voice.

Also note that Active Voice reserves the right to require re-certification whenever it deems it necessary. Active Voice maintains a database of all certification information.
